Partition & Ceiling Works
Professional partition walls and suspended ceilings that meet Australian standards.
Partitions and ceilings form the backbone of any commercial interior. They define space, control acoustics, provide fire separation, and set the tone for the overall aesthetic. At AHC Interior, we deliver partition and ceiling works that comply with BCA requirements and contribute positively to your project's functionality and appearance.
Our partition and ceiling services cover the full range of wall and ceiling construction used in commercial fit-outs:
We supply and install demountable glass partitions with aluminium framing, perfect for offices and meeting rooms. Options include clear, frosted, or printed glass. All systems are tested to AS/NZS 2200 for acoustic performance and can be reconfigured as needs change.
We install suspended ceiling systems using mineral tiles (Battens), access panels, bulkheads, and perimeter frames. Our standard system uses 600mm x 600mm acoustic tiles with an NRC rating of 0.60–0.75, depending on the application.
We construct stud walls with plasterboard lining, complete with skirtings, architraves, and internal corner beads. We also install fire-rated assemblies (where required) using F-R plasterboard with intumescent tape and seals at gaps over 7mm.
We supply and install cove base and skirting in PVC or aluminium, providing a clean finish that hides floor-to-wall junctions. Cove base is particularly popular in medical and food preparation areas where cleaning is a priority.
All our partition and ceiling work is designed and installed to meet Australian Building Code (BCA) requirements. Here's what you can expect:
We're involved in almost every commercial fit-out project, but here are some common scenarios where our services are critical:
Creating new meeting rooms, consultation areas, or private offices from open space. We handle everything from the structural steelwork to the final installation of joinery and fixtures.
Rewiring an existing office layout without major demolition. We move existing partitions, replace acoustic glazing, and update ceiling grids to improve the environment.
Medical centres require specific acoustic and infection-control specifications. We specify appropriate glass types (anti-microbial coating options available), cove bases, and accessible hardware.
Schools and TAFE facilities need cost-effective solutions that can be reconfigured over time. Our demountable systems offer flexibility for changing educational programs.
We integrate partition and ceiling works into the overall construction program, coordinating closely with other trades to ensure a smooth build:
We've completed hundreds of partition and ceiling installations across Sydney. Our clients value our technical expertise, attention to detail, and ability to keep to schedule:
Here's what clients say about working with AHC Interior on their partition and ceiling projects:
"AHC Interior installed glass partitions for meeting rooms and upgraded the suspended ceilings in our open-plan office."
"AHC Interior supplied and installed fire-rated plasterboard partitions for our consultation rooms, with intumescent sealing."
"AHC Interior installed a demountable glass partition system in our training centre. It has been reconfigured twice to suit new course layouts."
Common questions about our partition and ceiling services:
We primarily provide RL1 (20-minute) fire-rated assemblies using F-R fire-retardant plasterboard with intumescent tape at all joints. For applications requiring higher ratings, we can specify additional layers of fire-rated board or use specialized fire doors and seals. Our systems are tested and certified.
Yes, we handle both new installations and upgrades to existing spaces. For store refreshes, we can replace sections of glass partitions, update acoustic glazing, modify ceiling grids, or completely reconfigure the layout. We work carefully to protect finished areas and minimise disruption.
We review architectural drawings early to identify potential clashes with air-conditioning, data cabling, sprinkler systems, and electrical wiring. During installation, we erect structural steel first, then install channel tracks before hanging glass panels. This sequence allows other trades access to run services behind the partitions where needed.
Our quotes cover all materials and labour including: structural steel framing, channel tracks, glass panels with aluminium framing, acoustic tiles, skirtings/cove base, fire-rated assemblies where required, accessories (hanging rods, brackets, door frames), and any necessary modifications to accommodate services. No hidden costs.
